It’s easy to focus on the behaviours that can challenge us as parents and look for solutions to stop them from happening again.
But what if we think of behaviour as the way our children communicate with us, not just a problem to be fixed?
Often, the angry and distressed behaviours we see are driven by anxieties. Understanding the triggers and reasons behind the behaviours is the key to a deeper connection with our children and a greater understanding of their needs.
In this free class, behaviour expert Jonathan Newport explores some of the common sources of stress and anxiety for children. He’ll explain more about the triggers for behaviours, signs your child is becoming distressed, and share useful strategies to help your child calm down when they feel angry, upset, or worried.
In this class, you’ll learn:
- What we mean by “anxiety based children’s behaviour”
- Why behaviour is a form of communication
- The difference between connection and compliance
- The triggers behind the behaviours you see
- Strategies to help your child recognise how they feel and calm down
About our classes:
Our online parent classes all run on the My Family Coach website and last for around 60 minutes. A friendly coach will be ready to greet you when you join to share the key points you’ll be covering during the session.
