Being a teenager can be tough. The hormonal changes that come with growing up, the added pressures of school life and social life. Figuring out who they are in the world and who they want to be. Some young people will also be learning about and exploring their sexuality.

Your child might feel attracted to someone of the same gender, a different gender, or they might not experience sexual attraction at all. Whatever the case, sexuality doesn’t change who your child is as a person.  

It can take a lot of courage for a young person to start a conversation with you about their sexuality. They may feel worried about your reaction or embarrassed to talk. Your conversations with them can have a lasting impact, so it’s important to remember to keep them positive.
